Prompts lifecycle
A prompt activity can have different states depending on where it is in its life cycle:

Active: Currently running prompt activities.

Scheduled: Prompt activities set to start in the future.

Draft: Prompt activities saved but not yet published.

Expired: Prompt activities whose end date has passed.
1. Draft¶
- Create a draft:
- Requirements: a prompt activity can be created as a draft if the following minimum fields are provided:
- Name
- Type
- How to Save as Draft:
- Click the
Save as draftbutton - Until all required information is provided

- Publish
- A draft activity can be found under Draft tab
- a draft can be published when has all required fields completed, all inputs valid and Start and End dates are set in the future
- a draft is published after pressing
Schedulebutton - a draft can be updated by pressing again Save as draft button

Delete Draft
- Delete draft by opening the draft prompt and pressing
Deletebutton or by opening the menu on the prompt line and selecting Delete

Purpose: Drafts allow you to set up and review activities before all required information is available.
2. Active & Scheduled¶
- Requirements: All required fields must be completed.

Once all required data is provided, the prompt activity can be scheduled.

A prompt activity can be directly scheduled without being created as draft first by pressing
Schedulebutton. A pop-up will appear to confirm that the activity should be indeed scheduled with the starting date time configured.

A prompt activity cannot become directly active as the starting time has to be in the future. A prompt will always go from scheduled to active state.
- A scheduled prompt can be updated or changed to draft state.

Please note: a Preferred prompt can be updated only from the Orchestration canvas (Press
Go to source).

- An active prompt cannot be updated. The only allowed action is disabling the prompt either by pressing Disable on the prompt view or by selecting the disable option from the menu on the prompt line.

5. Expired¶
- Activities with both start and end dates in the past are Expired.
- Expired activities are listed under the Expired tab.
